Members of FireVelo Cycling Club travelled to San Diego in June to work with local organizers in the inaugural United States Police and Fire games. Club President Jim Berklite, VP Buck Buchanan and Treasurer Wade Little provided logistical support to several cycling events. The recent addition of a Wells Cargo” style trailer equipped with road marker signs for cyclists, tools for repairs and storage for our bikes while travelling to events was just what our police and fire competitors needed to make our events run smoothly according to Mike Graham, President of the USPFC.
This trailer was made possible by a grant from the Annenberg Foundation, which supports organizations making a difference in their communities. The grant process was collaboration between Club President Jim Berklite who prepared the grant letter and VP Buck Buchanan who introduced Jim to Neil Petzing. Neil is a retired Deputy Chief from Culver City FD and a close friend to the Annenberg Foundation.
